Yes protein is very important and there are many sources. I believe that most people are very low in protein intake and are taking in far too many carbs.

I have found in the past that a lot of bad eating will not affect me as long as I am eating the right foods as well and keeping my muscle level high by doing a lot of weight training.

I understand what you're saying, but you should really aim to get the majority of protein out of whole foods rather than supplements. I have around 2 shakes on a workout day, and 1 on a non-workout day. One in the morning upon waking, and one post workout with some simple carbs.

The rest of my protein comes from milk, eggs, chicken, beef etc.

Thank you for the great information on protein diet. I have heard a lot that high protein diet will cause liver and kidney damages. Would you mind to tell us how can we prevent this from happenning?

Thank you,
Tom

I don't think the average American has a problem getting enough protein. I think it's rare to see protein malnutrition in this country. Now, getting enough protein for body building is a different story. I think you must supplement in order to reach a high level of muscle mass. Thanks for the post!

it's importent not to concume too much protein. Only 30% of your calories should come from proteins.

I'm just getting a bit more into muscle building, after several half-attempts in the past. My problem is that I'm naturally quite skinny and find it difficult to put on a lot of weight. I can easily out-eat most of my friends who are 2 or 3 stones heavier than me, so that isn't the problem. Thanks for this post, I think I'm going to have to try giving supplements a go to see if I can build more muscle mass.

For building muscle, your body needs clean fats, lean meats, and whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. When you're cutting or just maintaining the muscle, the body needs less carbs and more lean protein and clean fats. Simple as that.

I like this article, it's nice information
for health. Protein can also be used to gain weight and the best way to get it is through the combination of both supplements and eating regular food.

My favorite ways of getting enough protein are firstly yoghurt, which is so easy to prepare, just have them with blueberries. My other favorite is protein powder, and you can even mix this into the yoghurt - quite delicious! Whey powder is good, as is pea powder (both complete proteins).
