					<description>Yes protein is very important and there are many sources. I believe that most people are very low in protein intake and are taking in far too many carbs.

I have found in the past that a lot of bad eating will not affect me as long as I am eating the right foods as well and keeping my muscle level high by doing a lot of weight training.</description>

					<description>I don't think the average American has a problem getting enough protein.  I think it's rare to see protein malnutrition in this country. My problem is that I'm naturally quite skinny and find it difficult to put on a lot of weight. Make sure you are eating at least 5/6 meals a day to keep your body in the anabolic (tissue building) stage, obviously with the right food groups but from what you have listed your on the right track. The other main thing is to keep a food diary and make sure your caloric intake is much higher than expenditure, to ensure weight gain.</description>
