					<description>Yes protein is very important and there are many sources. I believe that most people are very low in protein intake and are taking in far too many carbs.

I have found in the past that a lot of bad eating will not affect me as long as I am eating the right foods as well and keeping my muscle level high by doing a lot of weight training.</description>

					<description>I don't think the average American has a problem getting enough protein.  I think it's rare to see protein malnutrition in this country. My problem is that I'm naturally quite skinny and find it difficult to put on a lot of weight. The main expertise i have is in the muscle gain dieting that people go through. Make sure you are eating at least 5/6 meals a day to keep your body in the anabolic (tissue building) stage, obviously with the right food groups but from what you have listed your on the right track. The other main thing is to keep a food diary and make sure your caloric intake is much higher than expenditure, to ensure weight gain.</description>

					<description>Protein is essential - for men at least. I would just eat nice lean proteins if I was just trying to drop the pounds but maintain muscle mass but if my goal was body mass I would add some protein supplements for that extra edge. Great article by the way and kudos for keeping it real!
