Things That Throw Off Your Goals

I know that there are a number of things that we all run into from time to time that tend to get us off track from our goals. A few weeks ago something came into my life that has had the same effect, but I must say that its worth it. We had a new baby!

Its funny, but I remember reading on a blog or some other article a while back that if you wife has just had a baby, its really not the best time to be fanatical about bulking up, losing weight, or whatever. Sometimes priorities change. But as soon as we’re used to this new addition, its back to the routine.

So the question that remains for a lot of people is, “Ok, so something came up. Should I just stop working out altogether?” I would say no. Even if you can’t always make it to the gym there are always things you can do. Try some body weight exercises or anything else to keep yourself getting some exercise.

That’s funny, I’m in the exact same situation now. Baby due in June, and I want to get back into heavy training now. I’m considering waiting for another 6 months before I begin, and just doing some light exercise now. I think the key is always perform some sort of exercises, but when other things in your life come up, lower the intensity. I know from personal experience that heavy training and lack of sleep are a really bad combination!

There are always excuses. Some people are just looking for them so they can feel “justified” giving up. But as you say, there are always things you can do.

Many exercises you can do in your own home and only take 30 minutes. Not great for moving forward, but they are adequate for maintenance.

I think its all about getting the balance between maintaining your workouts and living your life. you just have to make adjustments sometimes, whether thats shortening your workouts due to time constraints, or lowering the volume due to lack of sleep because of a newborn :)

there will always be something that will come up so you can get out of exercising if it`s not important to you don`t look for an excuse just don`t do it. but if you are serious about your health and want to be there for your babies graduation or wedding. look for excuses to work out , if you can`t get to the gym pump that gallon of milk a few times while your feeding the little one.

In the morning I find that I have a little area where I work out for about 20 minutes. It is great, and makes me feel great. I start to get a sweat going, and then I take a shower, and start the day.

I think of those twenty minutes as the time to let loose and go crazy, and I get a workout along the way.

I know my greatest distraction is stress. When I’m stressed from work or my relationship, i tend to eat and get lazy. That’s why I’m trying to reverse that by using exercise as a way to relieve my stress. Thanks for posting.

Life seems to get busier with each passing day. I always set realistic goals so they become acheivable.

Yea, you shouldn’t give up on something that you love. The most you can do is decide what is important to you and keep making time to do what you love. Congrats on the baby!

Dieting is not sufficient for loosing weight. Its basically harmful also for your body. leave spicy food, junk food and fatty food to eat. But dont leave food completely. Another good way is Exercise. You can loose your weight by some exercise. Make a complete time management by which you can get sufficient time for exercise and yoga.
