Some Weight Loss Tips

With the internet today, there are plenty of places where you can learn how to lose weight.  It seems like everywhere you go you’re getting the latest tip or trick that is bound to help you lose weight quickly and permanently.

For those of us that try to keep a realistic look on things, please understand that losing the weight that you’ve put on over the years is going to take time to come off.  I often get annoyed at our “I want it done yesterday” society, and weight loss is one of those areas.

If you want a good list of weight loss tips, here is a list to check out: 101 Weight Loss Tips.  If you went through this list and really applied most, if not all, of these ideas, you’d be well on your way to losing weight.  You have to realize that in order to lose weight and lose it permanently you have to make some lifestyle changes.

Does weight loss come in a pill?  Well, there are supplements that can help, but you still have to be willing to do the work.  The other benefit of doing the work is that you’ll learn how to change on the inside as well so that you don’t put the weight right back on again.  But if you use supplements to help you on your way, that’s fine with me!  There are plenty that have been proven to help.  One you might check out is Lipo-6.  Use this link for some Lipo-6 reviews.

In summary, there are a lot of things to do and learn to effectively and permanently lose weight.  If you’re willing to do the work and make some chances, your chances of success are so much higher!

I find with weight loss the more guns in your arsenal the better. Eat good, lift weights, do cardio, don’t stress, take supplements… the more the better

Why do weight loss guides always say to avoid coffee? Is it because of all the calories from adding milk, sugar, cream, and other sweeteners or is it because of the caffeine? I don’t see why having a cup or two of coffee a day is bad as long as you either drink it straight up or use something like Splenda.

Good info. But some people like models try to loss so much weight to get size 0 that the hurt their body. This should be avoided. And for weight loss cardio is the main thing. Lifting weights is not that much of a weight loss process. Thanks.

Well said. I guess almost everyone now know how to lose weight, what people are not ready to do is the effort and work that goes into reducing weight.

Its all in the will power and how badly you want it :)

I agree 100%. There is a very bad perception in society that losing weight is easy, happens really fast, and takes very little work. A lot of people think all they have to do is read the latest fad diet book and follow what Atkins says.

I’ve looked at diets this way: if you don’t think you can do it for a long period of time, then don’t do it. Can you really only drink shakes for the next few years? No? Find something else that works and you’ll actually want to stick to and enjoy.

    1. eat to live!
    2. stay away from processed foods like chips and phase out sugary drinks - go for water, it’s the best!
    3. Go for intervals and resistance training

I agree with you; people are often unwilling to put in the effort because of their “I want it done yesterday” mentality. In order to be successful, we need to understand that it takes commitment and a great deal of effort to achieve results.

    Great tips!

I agree. If you want results, you have to be willing to put in the time and the effort! Changes don’t happen over night — it takes a little patience! Great post!

  14. May 18th, 2008 | 2:36 am

my simple tips for weight loss is drink more water, moderate exercise and concern on food intake.

  15. May 20th, 2008 | 10:42 am

I have tried diets, diet pills, supplements among other things. The only way I have been able to keep the weight off is to rely on myself and follow a healthy change of lifestyle. Meaning, a proper balanced diet of the four food groups, 8 hours of sleep, vitamins (as recommended by my doctor) and moderate exercise. Cardio most importantly as well as muscle toning.

Let me throw in another vote for losing weight by exercising more and eating healthier. The people I know that have been successful at losing weight and keeping it off long term, haven’t done it through expensive pills, it’s been by their hard work and dedication. It doesn’t have to cost a penny.

Those who think that pills can do wonders are fools. =) Well it might help a bit but it needs some effort as well. Exercise and keep track of your usual diet. That will be a good lifestyle

  19. May 29th, 2008 | 8:03 am

Yeah… I do really believe that this world has no ugly woman but lazy woman. But when I have to put too much efforts I will rather to give up and be an ugly woman :D

  20. May 30th, 2008 | 6:33 pm

you are right and the common sense approach of patience and take your time is probably the most important thing rather than always buy something you think will work overnight, panicing in june because you want to fit in a new bikini isn’t the best strategy

no matter what you do with pills or nutrition, I always find exercise helps so much especially for mood too, run or swim or cycle a few times a week makes a person feel so much better, men and women

Some interesting new research by a doctor has identified several species of parasites and a specific type of goopy plaque that if left in your bowels makes you fat, bloated, developing a pouch and spare-tire belly.

This is the cause of people’s obesity — fortunately, this research also reveals how to stop it. It further explains that the same cause of why people get fat is also the same reason why people eventually get sick and die prematurely — often cutting off years from their lives (not to mention the quality of their lives).

People who flush these parasites out, often report rapid weight losses up to 100 lbs or more — and without changing a single thing about their diets. Not that you need to lose anywhere near that amount… but it does prove how well it works.

Losing weight really isn’t all that hard, it’s really MUCH more of a mental struggle than a physical one. After all, your body wants to lose weight and wants to have muscle tone.

Paying attention to how bad foods make you feel immediately after eating them works best for me. Usually when I eat fatty foods, I immediately feel tired and want to take a nap, but I hate sleeping my life away. Use the way you feel as motivation, if you want to be happy and have energy, don’t eat foods that cause your body to do the exact opposite.

Losing weight takes a change in your lifestyle, and you have to tick to the change in your lifestyle to succeed in losing weight and keeping it off. The main secrets to losing weight include working out regularly. Reducing the amount that you eat. And eating a balanced amount of healthy foods including fresh vegetables, fruits, lean cuts of meat, etc. It also helps to eat small meals several times a day, instead of having 3 big meals where you stuff yourself. Doing these things is very hard in our society of eating fast food, working long hours, and watching tv or playing video games. It is not that hard to lose weight if you have the will power to stick to these basic tips but you must be very dedicated to sticking to your new lifestyle and the weight will not come off over night, it will take a while. There are many diet medications that you can purchase to help you lose weight but you can not count on these meds by themself, you must also change your lifestyle and start living healthy to really see improvements.

All excellent thoughts on good weight loss programs.

There is news of a new exercise pill that may benefit people that are not able to work out due to physical or medical situations.

These drugs AICAR and GW1516 will be newsworthy for some time I believe.

I set up a website where people can keep track of all the latest news announcements at newexercisepill.com .

Check it out when you get a chance.

    Thanks, Penny

There are so many theories on weight loss and it is interesting to think why some things work for some people and others don’t. In my case the only thing I can see that has helped me is a change of attitude and a good group of people to get out and be active with. Once I did that, everything fell into place.
