The decision in getting a surgery should be a product of careful thinking. With the expenses that come with it, I’m sure people only resort to this if they have already made up their minds..for there is no turning back.

I am very aware that there are a lot of people undergoing surgeries. I have nothing against them, but they must know what they are doing. Cause if they regret it, it may be too late. Also, there are a lot of "fake" Doctors out there that performs surgeries (with out license for sure, if they want their operations become successful they must get rid to those "fakes".

I think the main point here is that if you only have the discipline to have a good and healthy lifestyle, surgery is not needed. Right?

I agree that this would take some careful consideration and reviewing of reputable surgeons. While this is certainly a last resort for some, I've found that there are some weight loss surgeries that are 'adjustable' and 'safe' that offer lifetime results. Surely a better option than the 'yo yo' dieting that some people may experience.

Pyramus,
In most cases I would completely agree with you. I do feel however that there are some people out there that can really benefit from this. However, let's not make excuses for ourselves and just assume that we are one of those assumptions. And even if someone does have surgery, they should still be ready to make lifestyle changes.

Instead the surgery for weight loss eg. gastric bypass or gastric rings are very dangerous operations. They do cause weight loss in very large amounts but when the ring is taken out with a second operation you will regain the weight you have lost in a small amount of time surely. If you plasn to leave the astric ring for years your stomach may get perforated which would cause a peritonitis and sepsis leading to death in a high percent.

It's always best to get the right blood tests done before you consider surgery. Technology advances have allowed there to be hundreds of tests available that will help you determine if you need surgery or not. You don't even have to go to your doctor if it is a private sitution, there are places to order blood tests online.

I would agree that this type of surgery should a very last resort. Being able to control this with out surgery is the best option to go down.

If you are thinking about non-surgical aesthetic treatments, cosmetic surgery, dermal fillers or botox its always best to discuss the procedures available in an initial consultation at a cosmetic surgery clinic. This can only happen if they know what to expect, from the first consultation, to the day of surgery and throughout the post-operative period. Ask direct questions and expect straightforward and honest answers.

There is some stuff that working out just cannot do for you depending on your genetics. Not everyone, no matter how many situps they do or how much they starve themselves are going to get that perfect 6 pack (for example) When I worked out..man from the knees up I looked good LOL..but nothing was going to fix my chicken legs :) I just decided to love myself for who I was.

I would really go for it if I were people. As long as you have the money and you do so research on the surgeon you will be fine. My wife has had a breast enlargement in the past, nothing big only from an A cup to a C and the surgeon has done a tremendous job.

I personally think that in most cases you can lose weight without having to resort to surgery. It just takes a lot of determination and hard work, and you have to remember that just as you did not put all the weight on overnight, you will not take it off overnight, either. However, I think that there are extreme cases, when perhaps surgery is called for to help save a life and help someone get their health back. It is just something that each person has to decide for themselves after doing the necessary research.

Balanced diet and exercise are better then obesity surgery, I think.
Fat is sometimes localized in problematic parts of body and exercise and diet do not help. Then is is suitable liposuction or tummy tuck.

I completely agree that simply getting surgery isn't a long term solution ---- eating better and exercising more are key.
