Perfect Pushups - Good for a Home Workout

Sometimes you just don’t have time to go to the gym. So rather than making excuses, its good to have an alternative plan for getting a workout in at home. Whether you have a small collection of equipment at home or you just do bodyweight exercises, you can still get something done at home. Granted, the gym is always better, that’s why we call this plan B!

About 2 weeks ago I picked up a pair of the Perfect Pushup over at Target. I’ve seen the ads and am always very cautious with this sort of thing, but this one seemed simple enough to possibly be effective. If you haven’t seen these things, they’re basically like pushup bars but allow you to rotate your arms while doing the motion.

So far I’m impressed. I’ve been using them in the morning about 3 times a week for the last 2 weeks and they do a good job! You really get more out of your pushups this way. This is a product that I’d recommend you consider including in your arsenal for things that you can do at home!

Perfect pushup is simply very good equipment for doing pushups in any place you want .Mostly we guys dont have time for going to gym so this can be very handy .

These do work very well. I take them on the road when I travel and use them in the hotel room.

Similar to Push up pro but with better build quality. Twist movement lowers the strain on wrist, elbow and shoulder joint and at the same time increases the load at the shoulder muscles. Pretty nice piece of equipment overall.

  4. April 29th, 2008 | 11:01 pm

how much are those things? they seem like they work quite well

  5. April 30th, 2008 | 3:19 pm

I’ve never seen these before but I think I might have to check them out. Look like they would help a lot.

  6. May 2nd, 2008 | 9:30 am

You know what, I have heard about these. Actually the first time I saw them was on Snoop Dogs reality show, (don’t laugh…its shameful but true) he was having a push up contest with his son..it looked so difficult!

  7. May 12th, 2008 | 8:17 pm

It’s a convenient tool for people like me who have no time to go to the gym. I’ll purchased two pairs for me & my brother. :D

  8. May 14th, 2008 | 6:36 am

I’ve been using these for about 6 months and absolutely love them. The thing I like most is the additional stretch you achieve from the elevated hand position. On the commercial the guy stops his descent at hand level. I go all the way to the floor and can tell a huge difference in my pecs and shoulders. I paid about $30 for these on amazon and recommend them to everyone.

  9. May 31st, 2008 | 9:23 am

those would give a greater range of motion, which is important within reason, it is a good idea to have some equipment for motivation while at home to go along with exercise and recreation done out of the home, like running to the park or cycling or swimming, I’m in California so we get great weather for year round recreation in the parks, but for many that live in colder areas, you really need something like that in the winter time to keep fit at home

  10. June 9th, 2008 | 2:59 am

I bought a pair of these a couple of months ago. In one sense they are totally unnecessary, but in other sense they are great to have in the living room, sitting there by the TV. Your eyes wonder, spot the pushup bars and figure while your there doing nothing you may as well do some push ups!

  11. June 17th, 2008 | 3:34 am

    thank you:)

I’ve been looking to get some of these after watching a push-up exercise demo on youtube. I wasn’t sure how good they’d be but will go ahead and order some after your recommendation. Didn’t realize they were so cheap.

  13. June 26th, 2008 | 1:35 am

    Do we really need this?
    Hey, it’s just pushups :D

Thanks for this idea. I will have to try it. I used to do pushups on an incline, with the help of a bench at the gym, or a bed at home, to get more out of pushups, but this seems to do the trick too.

I’ve considered getting these for awhile now. I do pushups everyday and my wrists are fine so I’m not really worried about that issue. Can anyone tell me if these actually improve your workout? That would be a big plus in deciding to purchase them if they aren’t just a gimmick.

I was one of those people who never and I mean never wanted to have anything to do with the growing ‘nutrition’ market. there was one MLM company popin up after another. Each one with “claims” of miraculous healing by using their product. You know what I mean. But one day I was actually encouraged by a friend to at least give a product a try. I was Acai juice. well first I looked at the company that was most visable, Monavie with it’s cute little bottle and very HIGH price. I immediatly said NO. But when I found myself online one day I found several sites that sold the product. I tried several brands over the months and one stood out. TruAcai. I contained more acai than monavie AND was cheaper per serving!!! I’ve been using TruAcai from www.truacai.com for over 2 years now and every condition I have been dealing with is gone! my high blood pressure is now great, my cholesterol is great, my heart is wonderful, my energy is through the roof, and uh, how can I say this tactfully? I’m waking up in the morning like a TEENAGER if you know what I mean. I would encourage anyone to try some. I’m not a paid spokesman but I just dont like seeing people ripped off. It’s great stuff. Do your homework. but try TruAcai. dont waste your time and money. I hope I have helped someone.

My personal experience is way too cool and it saved me heck lot of time. Best part is with perfect push ups gym was no longer the place to go as my work outs resulted better than ever. Both my wrists feel smooth and light and for $20 its simply couldn’t get any better.

This is a handy device for travel and exercising. The other item I saw at the sports shop today was the weights you wrap around wrists and ankles. These make a walk feel many times more effective. You can go for 20 minutes and it seems like you’ve done about 40. Good for those who love to walk but don’t want to join a gym.

No word of a lie, this is the second time in a matter of days that someone has suggested these to me. While visitng my brother over the weekend, I noticed that he had a set and tried them out briefly, I too was impressed. Though it should be noted that i used them far, far less than the OP.

  89. September 26th, 2009 | 4:11 am

thanks for the post i’m really trying my best to get fit again, being 36 years old with a family makes getting to the gym is really hard, so i’m going to give these a try and see what happens, so thanks for sharing.

  90. September 28th, 2009 | 9:40 am

I own the “PP” that’s what I call them… I love them, and it’s nice to have an alternative to the regular push up. If you do decide to make the purchase; they include a work out plan. It’s not a huge plan but it’s enough to keep you somewhat in shape till you get back to the gym. I definatly recommend them cause the don’t take up any space like other @ home workout equipment!

  91. October 1st, 2009 | 6:15 am

I also have the Perfect Pushup, I received it as a gift and it works quite well. Going to the gym and having a regular exercise regimen is the best way to lose weight and slim down. There are also a number of products on the market today that can help with those stubborn pounds that just don’t seem to go away.

I think the only useful thing about those is you will be more motivated to do pushups once you buy them :)
