Protein is by far the most thermogenic of the macronutrients (protein, carbohydrate, and fat). Due to the high metabolic costs of processing it, protein provides fewer storable kcal. The thermic effect of a mixed meal is about 10% of intake, while the thermic effect of protein per se is more like 25-30%. That could mean reving up your metabolism by 200 kcal just from your 200-gram (800 kcal) protein intake.

Dr. John Berardi’s stuff is awesome. I highly recommend his precision nutrition manual. The dvd set of his seminar that it comes with is worth the price alone!!
This is an awesome way to boost your metabolism. I’m sure you’ve heard rather than eating 3 large meals, you should eat 6 small meals cause it helps boast your metabolism. A protein shake is a good substitute for a meal. Because no one wants to spend all their time in the kitchen.

I’ve never really looked into vegan specific ideas, so I really couldn’t help you with that one! I’m sure you could go with things like lentils and other beans that have a decent protein content. But I’m really not a person to ask on that one!

Do keep in mind that burning calories is only one outcome.
Another things to consider is how acidic or alkaline your body is.
Eating meat is not appropriate for everyone, just like being vegetarian doesn’t work for everyone either.
Really very helpful tips for considering everyone’s health. If anyone try it, it really help to improve your health.

a good way to prepare is to eat healthy foods ( veggies, yogurt, pasta) the day before your 2k. you should also drink plenty of water. the day of you should eat a smaller sized meal of mostly carbs and protein. try to stay away form sugary things, they will help you for a short time, but that energy gets burned up really fast. after the 2k you should drink either powerade or chocolate milk to replenish.

Protein is indeed effective for fat burning. Muscles are made up of protein and people with more lean muscle mass on them tend to burn more fat even without doing nothing due to their high metabolism.

Reduce the oil and fat items you will get better result to reduce the weight….
First you avoid nonveg items and dont take the oil foods. Next you take up a phisical exercise and after you get better result….

Protein is great for losing body fat. I also like to add vegetables to what I eat as it takes more calories to burn most veggies, than the calories they provide; however, protein is still one of my favorite foods that increase metabolism . Thank you!
