Making Excuses - Video

I saw a really cool video on Alwyn Cosgrove’s blog today, it really makes you think about the excuses that you make and why you make them.

Honestly, you can make excuses about anything. It doesn’t matter what it is, you can always come up with an excuse not to do something. I know that if I really want to progress and reach my goals, I have to stop making excuses and find the reason to make things happen. It’s a lesson that I think we all need to keep learning over and over again.

Here’s the video:

    Excuses.

One quote I always liked is “there are never excuses, only reasons”.

As someone who worked as a personal trainer for 15 years, one of the things
that drove me out of the job was hearing all sorts of ridiculous excuses.
People either want something, or they don’t. Excuses are merely a reasoning
for oneself why they did not achieve their goals.

I have tried so many diet programs without success and nearly gave up, and then I bought and tried Fat Loss for Idiots. It is a no-nonsense approach that really worked for me!

Excuses are something that we make all the time and even when there is no real need of it sometimes.

I think the major reason is of course that we dont like taking blame upon ourselves and the other reason is that there is a sense of relief when you put the blame on something or someone.

Exactly… Quit it with the excuses and get on with losing weight. The people that complain are just looking for someone to blame. Its not hard - Eat less calories and do more exercise!!

We are always looking for excuses, I have like 20 for not going to the gym, that I am moving, that next month is to short, that I have no car… a lot of silly excuses and I perfectly know that excuses are for silly people…

This is a great clip on motivation. If each of us could conquer this area in our lives, we would undoubtedly be successful. This applies not only to exercise, but every aspect. We know what we need to do, most of us lack the motivation or will to do it. - Nate

Leading a healthy life style is not difficult at all. If we are always excusing ourselves for not going to the gym or eating healthily, it’s because we don’t want to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Great ad. Very inspiring. I think in all aspect of life that it is easy to fall into making excuses for why you can get things done today. But, I think it is particularly true with exercise and fitness because we do tend to put work, family, and other obligations first. But, when you get right down to it, what is really more important than your health and vitality?!
