Health News — New York City Becomes the First City to Ban Trans Fats in Restaurants

Looks like the law passed! In what we would consider a great step forward towards helping everyone be a little healthier. We can only hope that more and more states and restaurants will make moves such as this for the betterment of all.

There is no reason why these restaurants would even need to cook in trans fats any way. This does say something about our country. It says we are trying to get healthier.

This isn’t too surprising, but people still worry about how much control the government should have over what we do with our own bodies… this will always be an issue in America, but let’s hope high obesity percentages aren’t! Post Pregnancy Tummy

Trans Fats should be banned everywhere, but regardless if they say their food contains “zero” trans fatty acids, these vile lipids will still be present in super-heated oils that are often used in fast-food restaurants, IF they don’t change the oil or overuse the oil, etc. Lets just say, any rancid, low quality oil will be detrimental to your health in the long run; hence forth the greatness of home-cooking. ;)
As for all the intentional use of trans fat in baked goods, pizzas, and whatnot: It should be banned around the globe! Cheers!

I’m not a big fan of banning transfats, but how bout this. Put a surgeons general warning on them, just like cigarettes.
