Health News — Another Excuse Why People Are Fat?

Depending on how you look at this article, you could think that this is another excuse that scientists are giving us to be fat. Which is just what a lot of people would love to hear. But let’s take a look at the following article in a little bit of a different light.

Basically, there was a study done that shows that obese and really overweight people have more of a certain family of bacteria that are apparently keeping them over weight. Does this mean that a person is overweight solely because of ‘bacteria’? I think not! Let’s look at it this way: the body is an amazing thing. It will adapt to what you give it. For example, you stress a muscle enough, the body will adapt and make it grow. If a person continues to over eat, the body will find a way to make better use of that food. So, if a person continually eats a really high calorie diet, wouldn’t it make sense that the body would then adapt the body itself to be able to somehow process what it is being given? If anything, this type of study could explain why it is even harder for people that are extremely overweight to get back to ‘normal’ levels. So please, don’t use bacteria as an excuse for excessive weight. If anything, look at it as just another thing you’re going to have to change within your body if you really want to reach your goals.

One very beneficial thing that could come from this study is that hopefully scientists will be able to come up with something that can help to reduce the adaptive bacteria to help people be able to get back to a healthy weight with less frustration.

I as well, completely agree with what you have said. It is a shame that when you let yourself go, your problems tend to compound themselves. Your perception of food, your physique, your intestinal bacteria, your self-esteem, your whole world starts to change when you slide down this slippery path. Then when you make an effort to simply change your body fat, this seemingly small hill becomes a mountain with all the psychological and now bacterial challenges that you now have to reverse.

I agree with you. At one time in my life I weighed over 350 pounds and am a 5′1 female. I over ate is why I was so fat. After gaining the weight it did not take as much food to maintain the weight, but it was hard to get off. I had gastric by-pass surgery which worked for me.

I understand how you feel. I went to a biaractic clinic and they had me to take diet pills to help me lose weight. The pills worked but as soon as I quit taking them I put the weight back on and added more to them. I tried several more times and the same thing happened.

Your point is reasonable. Fat problem is mainly caused by the
diet you adopt. Besides, the way you deal with your food.
Chinese people have healthy teeth and they seldom have fat
problem.Because they don’t carb-heavy food and eat vegetabl
    as often as possible.

I can’t believe that the human has bacteria in the body that cause a person to be overweight. I live to watch the shows on Discovery Health and TLC about obesity. I notice that some of the people on these shows make excuses about their weight gain. I feel that people should take responsibility and find the root of the over eating.
