Yeah, this is a really sad commentary. If we were being compared to a third world country it wouldn't be bad, it could just mean that we're healthier. But we're being compared to other healthy nations, which are apparently more healthy than us. Wake up Americans, work out, eat some fiber. Do something!!!!!!!!

As a heaver person my self I think part of the problem would be the number of white collar jobs available to people in which the site at their desks all day not getting any exercise I feel this has been a problem in my case so I feel it they can implement something in the work place to get some sort of exercise program for white collar jobs that would be great.

I agree that our obesity rates are increasing and we are, as a nation, not as healthy as we should be. I think it's irresponsible, though, to blame obesity on one thing (such as high fructose corn syrup, which in my opinion gets a bad rap) because this, like many other things, in moderation won't hurt you. The key is leading an active lifestyle and watching your diet, but I think pointing the finger at HFCS doesn't do justice to the significance of a combination of other factors that are more drastically leading to obesity.

Well I really think just as you said that the problem is personal, I know Americans are a really consumerist society and that helps in increasing the problem but let's think a little bit about ourselves next time we have a "fast food".

High fructose corn syrup is a killer in disguise. They were putting this stuff in sports drinks like Gatorade masked under the name "glucose-fructose syrup". And to think that these drinks are marketed as healthy for you. This stuff should be banned!

Yes, we are not only the fattest, but also the most unhealthy. the biggest problem with this is that the US glamorizes this lifestyle. And it's not right.

A sad commentary on the US, "Americans are the fattest people on the planet." Ha-ha! I could have told ya that! Just go to Walmart and look around at the customers some time; I feel slimmer already, just thinking about it. LOL!
