Get Some New Recipe Ideas

Do you ever find yourself wondering what else you can eat, maybe even on a so-called ‘cheat day’? I know I do sometimes. I get tired every now and then of eating virtually the same type of foods all the time.

This is where recipe sites come in handy. Granted, not all of them are friendly for our particular lifestyle, but I think you can still get a lot of ideas from these sites. Then just tweak the recipe to your needs.

One really cool site for this is KeyIngredient.com. You can submit your own food recipe, view other recipes, and even add them to your own blog or whatever you want. Here’s an example:

Anyway, its a fun little site, check it out sometime and see what kind of recipes you can come up with and tweak to your enjoyment!

My favorite snack foods when I’m eating right are:

Cottage cheese, mixed with spoon full of natural peanut butter, and a scoop of sugar-free pudding mix.

    or

after work out shake, 2 scoops ON 100% whey, chocolate milk, spoon full of peanut butter and ice, blended.

Cravings can drive you right off of your diet. Usually it’s a craving for something from your favorite restaurant.

I like to take a top secret recipe from the restaurant and convert it into something healthy. Sometimes the recreation can actually taste better than the original.

Before you know, you’ll be craving your own healthy recipes.

  23. September 11th, 2008 | 10:46 am

I’ve always found that if you cook your foods differently you’ll end up with a different taste so if you lacking ingredients, try grilling your chicken breast instead of in the oven or perhaps try grilling your asparagus instead of steaming. Lightly coated with barbecue sauce will also enhance the flavor and light steak spice sprinkle also works good with grilled chicken breast.

I am curious about the marinate.

There are so many ways to do that including aging.

I am wondering if there are any special instructions regarding the timing of the marinate.

I have used a ketchup, soy sauce, melted butter combination before. I apply these directly on the chicken before roasting a leg quarter for one hour at 325 degrees.

However, I am not a marinate expert and would like some more instruction regarding time if that is at all possible.

    Thanks for the great post.

Thanks for the recipe, but I also hate low carb and low fat diets.

  131. February 14th, 2010 | 4:23 pm

forgot to add, that I’ve tried “Fat Loss 4 Idiots” diet and was very disappointed with the results. Anybody tried it? What’s your feedback?

  132. February 15th, 2010 | 9:20 pm

First I want to say that this recipe was terrific THE FIRST TIME I ate the result.

Unfortunately, I had plenty of leftovers, and left them out (covered) on the counter over a weekend.

When I came in on Sunday evening, I uncovered the remains. They still looked great. I ate them all down and they were scrumptious, and then I found about four hours later that I had acute food poisoning.

It was the most uncomfortable 24 hours of my life.

So, once again, the recipe was great, as long as you don’t add stupidity as a seasoning.
