Extra Benefits to Building Muscle

I was reading an interesting article this morning from MSN Health & Fitness about the extra benefits to building muscle. I know that a lot of people feel that building muscle is mainly a vanity thing. Well, with that type of mentality they are really missing out on the regular health benefits of having more muscle on the body.

The article focuses on sarcopenia, the gradual breakdown of muscles as a person gets older. This happens to all of us, and the natural remedy for it is to be doing resistance training. The article also talks about the fact that doing cardio alone isn’t enough. So if you’re the kind of person that loves going for a jog but hates hitting the weights, then you are missing out on the true benefits of resistance exercise.

I’m not going to summarize the whole article, but if you were looking for some extra motivation to go to the gym, this article might just help!

Yes, it does help. Some people only jog but they do not like weightlifting activities. If everyone tries to go to gym and train their muscles, I think most people will get healthier lifestyle.

Muscle can burn calories and keep your body fit as you grow older. But one thing is for sure: muscle is very hard to build, but so easy to lose. You gotta put out the sweat and have a great diet to put on lean muscle mass.

I’ve always tried to emphasize the importance of strength training to all of my clients. Muscle loss is one of the reasons why people get over weight overtime… As their muscle mass decreases, so does their metabolism and before they know it they are adding pounds of body fat every year!

Building muscles isn’t rocket science but you won’t just happen upon big muscles by walking into a gym without a basic understanding of muscle and what causes it to grow. Understanding the goal of weight lifting and how and why it inspires muscle growth will be paramount to your success.

I think all men should weight train. If I take a week off (which I’ve been told is good every now and then) my energy levels come right down and I start feeling sloppy. Resistance training empowers and motivates me!

I think the easiest way to build muscle fast is to follow these tips:
    1) Begin every set as if it’s your last set for the workout.
    2) treat every single training rep as if your life depended on it.
    3) Always time your rest periods between sets, with a stopwatch.
    4) Try and wear a top so you don’t keep checking yourself out in the mirror, Do that when you’re not training.
    5) Work out with body builders who are prepared to train you hard!!
One of my favourite quote is; “You get what you focus on.
