Great Program

Today we wanted to take a minute to let you know about one of the best overall programs out there, Precision Nutrition. This site is from health expert John Berardi and some of his pals and is a great resource for any information you need on the subject of losing weight, gaining muscle, or anything else you need to reach your goals. Check out the forum, which you can view for free, and many of the other resources that are available.

Here are also some of the books written by John Berardi:

Summer is Almost Here…

Are you ready for it? Summer is the time that everyone likes to look their best. And why not? It’s the only time of year that most of us actually let our skin see the sun! So what can you do to get ready for the summer season? Well, again that depends on your goals. But here are what most people will be shooting for:

Lose that extra weight and get shredded! In other words look good in that swim suit!

So if that’s you’re goal, we encourage you to set a date for your goal now and work hard to attain it. Anything can happen when you really put your mind to it. Good luck!

Time For Another Checkup!

Anybody in the business world right now is setting their sites on how they did in the first quarter and looking forward to the second quarter. Have you ever considered doing the same thing for your health and fitness goals? We all talk about New Year’s resolutions, but do you ever check up on them? Setting quarterly (3 month) goals is a great way to keep up on how you’re doing and if you’re coming close to reaching your yearly (New Year’s resolution) goals.

Rest and Sleep are Part of the Equation

When you look at all the different parts of what is necessary to build a better body, one part that a lot of people don’t seem to take into full consideration is the effect that rest has on your body’s development. You can find plenty of books on other parts of the equation like how to eat right, what are the right and best exercises to do, what supplements work, etc. But when was the last time you saw a book that only talked about how sleep is a crucial part of developing your physique? If there is one out there, I have never heard of it.

So how much sleep do you need? Most sources will tell you 7-9 hours, or something like that. Funny how this is the same recommendation that we’ve all heard since we were kids, but how many of us actually follow it? Instead we try to operate on 4-6 hours of sleep and build muscle at the same time. You’re not stacking the odds in your favor if this is what you’re trying to do. A good number of the articles that you read will mention that rest is probably the most important thing that you have to include in your lifestyle if you really want to build your best body. If that’s the case, its time to take a look at your own sleep habits and start to take it more seriously!

Good Selection of Music to Workout to!

We did a post a several months ago about listening to music during your workout to stay in the zone. Here is a blog post from another site that gives a sample list of music to listen to when you’re working out. Of course, this list would need to be customized with your own music preferences. Make sure your music is upbeat to keep you moving and energized throughout your workout. Music can be a very powerful part of your overall workout.

Stay Healthy Through the Holidays!

Hey Everyone,

Here’s just a little note to hopefully give you a little motivation to stick with your program through the Holidays. Ironically enough, this major Holiday Season is timed right before we all start making our New Year’s Resolutions. And also ironically enough, it seems that its during the Holidays that most people put on extra weight that they wouldn’t have put on any other time of the year. So as a rebound, their New Year’s Resolution is something like “Get back on track with my fitness goals” along with resetting goals entirely. So while it may be hard, why not just stick with your plan as much as possible even through the Holidays? Yes, you may get some funny looks and some funny comments from your friends, but at least when New Years rolls in you’ll feel confident that you finished the year out strong instead of giving up at the very end. Perseverance is the key!

Good luck, and be strong through the Holidays!
