Training
A few weeks ago we left a post about using the big 3 lifts in your workout. Today we want to talk about building a base strength and mass level before moving on the more advanced exercises and workouts.
Its very important that you build a solid foundation before you start to look like the guys and girls in the magazines. This could be considered the first stage of your development. In his book The New Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding
, Arnold talks about how the basic level of development should take a couple of years. Of course we all would like to see great results a lot sooner than this, but sometimes that just isn’t reasonable. So be realistic with yourself and take the necessary time to really develop a good base, a good foundation to what you’re trying to accomplish.
As part of your foundation training make sure that you are using plenty of compound movements, like with the big 3. For more information or to get a good specific workout, check out Arnold’s book.
